Congratulations Mark Savill, winner of the UA Standard for Excellence Award
Aug 28, 2009

Mark Savill is a Sprinkler apprentice from Local 170 in Delta BC. Mark was participating in the 2009 UA International Apprenticeship Competition held each year in Ann Arbor Michigan in conjunction with the United Association Instructor Training Program. This contest has apprentices from all across North America competing in theoretical and practical skills contests, and is a showcase of the level of expertise the various trades we represent have in their chosen trades.

Mark won the Standard for Excellence award, which is given in recognition for being the best at working with others and leading the group of apprentices during the competition. This embodies the spirit of this event and his representation for Canada was an excellent example of the type of people we have in our ranks and why we continue to say we are the best in the industry.

We want to congratulate Mark and his local union Business Manager Joe Shayler, for producing the quality of apprentices our industry requires, and for a job well done.
